You’ve Got Mail

Technology changes all the time, but my kids will never understand the cultural significance of the AOL voice saying “You’ve Got Mail”. That’s something that everyone knew about 10 or 15 years ago. Now it’s gone!

My three year-old loves watching Pixar videos (A Bug’s Life, Cars, Madagascar, etc.) They’re fun to watch, but it’s mind-boggling how he could watch the same one over and over and over again, until he’s memorized the scenes, lines, colors, everything. I don’t know how he can do it.

Old Movies

Old, classic movies are sometimes more fun to watch that modern blockbusters or the latest arthouse flicks. I’ll occasionally watch an old John Wayne movie, just because the directing and cinematography were much different 40 or 50 years ago. Try it some time!
