Meerkats are vicious killers who will eliminate their own offspring to prevent their grandchildren competing with their children.

(Arrrr, look at the blood in their eyes… arrrr). Then you’re not acquainted with the saintly Flower. I don’t remember her ever killing her grandchildren.
